Once again The Vara Center sweeps the awards this year at the Computer Maintenance Competition. The students at the Vara Center all worked very hard to achieve the rewards that they received. The HISD Vara Center students attend Austin, Eastwood & Milby. This competition includes all high schools in Houston and surrounding areas. The competition was held at San Jacinto College in Pasadena, TX on February 12 & 13, 2010. This is the 4th year the Vara Center’s Computer Project has won Best of Show. Thirty-four out of thirty-five students qualified to go to State held in Corpus Christi on March 25-27, 2010. The Vara Center SkillsUSA was awarded the Outstanding Chapter among 104 Chapters which includes school districts in and around HISD.
We look forward to the State Competition and bringing home the State awards (again)!!! We are very proud of the teachers and all the students at the Vara Center for Technology.
