Financial Literacy Curriculum helps C.T.E. classes learn!
We recently had Channel 2 interview our students regarding their learning in Mr. Platt’s class as it pertains to Fincancial Literacy. Some of our friends from the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce were kind enough to donate Dave Rampsey resources to support our students with their understanding of finances. The Channel 2 interviews will air later this week. The documented footage echoes our committment to building well rounded leaders that are ready to meet the demands and the challenges of the future. We understand that record high depts, skyrocketing foreclosures, and an unstabled economy sometimes leads our college bound students to financial stress. Therefore, we are approaching this with the understanding that many of the problems people face today could have been avoided if they had received a practical financial education. Eastwood Academy High School is dedicated to offer financial literacy curriculum opportunities for students in the form of economics classes, dual credit community college courses, and classes geared specifically towards preparing students to be financially responsibile in college. Most importantly, we prepare our Eastwood students to live an independent financial life after they complete their studies at a four year university.
